Got a little problem, guys! My computer won't start up. You switch it on, it makes the requisite humming, but the screens stay blank and there are no beeps or other usual startup noises.

Any locals reading know anything about hardware problems? I have a bad feeling that's what's causing this. Frustratingly, I probably have at least three important emails downloaded onto the system (one from the real estate!) which I can't access any other way. *sadface*

If you're local and willing to take a look at it, there's a pack of beer (or bottle of booze of your choice) in it for you... helps plz?

[EDIT] Joey's poking around in it now and he's got powerup, but an error message came up, and we now know that it's definitely a processor issue. The computer is dual-processor, so theoretically it should be able to run on one alone, but we're not sure how to do that. Is there a way to disable one processor, or do we have to physically remove it from the computer?

(We think we know which one it is because the fan on that one has gone wacky lately, and that may have caused it to overheat.)
